About AWIS
Established in 1971, AWIS is a national organization of women and men dedicated to achieving equity and full participation of women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. With over 4,200 members from across the STEM disciplines, AWIS serves as a network, resources, and voice for women.
AWIS is a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law.

About AWIS-San Francisco
The San Francisco chapter of the Association for Women in Science (AWIS-SF) was founded in 2003 to connect local women in industry and academia. The San Francisco chapter is a member of the Northern California Committee (AWIS-NCC), which brings together members of the San Francisco, Palo Alto, East Bay, and Sacramento chapters.
