Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco (BGCSF)
We serve more than 19,000 youth (ages 6-18) per year at eight Clubhouses located in the neighborhoods with the fewest resources. We are open “when kids need us most” – after school, on most school holidays and during the summer. We offer safe places where young people can learn, grow, and succeed. BGCSF perdiodically have volunteer openings for STEM topic tutoring (chemistry, biology) for different grade levels.
Get involved: Go to website and sign-up for the volunteer orientation http://www.kidsclub.org/get-involved/volunteer/. Then you will have access to their full volunteer job total to see and sign up for specific roles.
One must register and complete a 2hour volunteer orientation before they can be a volunteer tutor. If you want to know whether there is a specific need for your skill set, you can email the volunteer coordinator Brett Carr: bcarr@kidsclub.org
However, he coordinates 3000 volunteers, so it may be worth going ahead with an orientation (there are various times/locations) to be able to have full access to their volunteer job portal.
